Always Expand Selected Conversation: Outlook messages are expanded to display all the emails in a conversation when you open the conversation. Use Classic Indented View: Outlook displays threads in a list that has replies indented below the messages they answer. When this option is off, threads are shown as a flat list. To customize an automatic reply in Microsoft Outlook, first, you need to create a template of e-mail message that will be send according to custom rules. You can use a template, also, when you need to send messages regularly such as some reports, if it contains the same text, subject or recipients and just need a little modification.

  2. I was running into this issue in Outlook 2013 for Windows. It worked fine in Outlook for Mac (and Gmail, and pretty much every other modern email client) but in Outlook 2013 for Windows, it would completely collapse everything. The solution was simple: do NOT put in px if you are declaring a pixel width (with the exception of inline styles).

To collapse (or minimize) the Ribbon, do one of the following:

  • Double-click the label of the tab you're currently using.
  • Click the Minimize the Ribbon button:

While the Ribbon is minimized, click any tab to turn it back on temporarily. Itwill automatically hide when you're done using it.

To totally hide the Ribbon (a new feature in Outlook 2013), just chooseAuto-hide Ribbon in the Ribbon displays options list:

It hides Ribbon and displays three dots near the upper-right corner of the screen instead. Clickthe three dots button to redisplay the Ribbon temporarily. When you click back in the document, the Ribbon hides itself again:
