This page will show you the extended RX/TX mod for the DR-03T. Now for the mod: To open TX from 26 mhz to 40 mhz remove bottom cover locate blue jumper protruding from front panel snip jumper, tape ends to prevent shorting. I own several Alinco radios. I like them all. Sturdily built, generally intuitive to use. Two modest complaints about this radio - 1) No squelch knob. You have to hit a function key and then twist a knob. To me, a mobile radio has three knobs that HAVE to be dedicated. Channel selector, volume and SQUELCH.

DR-1200 Data Radio Instruction Manual 175 kB PDF Courtesy of David Leeper K6DWL The user manual says that this radio is specifically designed for packet. Unfortunately the audio output pin on the mic jack is speaker audio (i.e. low impedance and it varies with the position of the volume control) so you have to be real careful with the level going into the TNC. If it had been line level out it would have been a lot better. There is a little common info between the two manuals, so you will want to download both. The service manual has a full parts list but no schematic, only a block diagram and some rather poor board layouts. Does anyone have a real schematic? |
