hi guys
recently completed and passed a 6g welder qualification test in compliance with ISO 9606 at a company that train and certify welders before i started the test piece i was told that it will be lloyds stamped and that one of lloyds surveyors will have to visual my test piece and see my test results before he will stamp my cert
on the day of the test a lloyds surveyor didn't appear to witness any of my welding nor did he appear at any point to visual my test piece before it went for testing which was the next day
i received news about 5 days after the test that i had passed and then received my certificate but once the certificate arrived there was no company stamp or name of the person which had issued me the certificate and the lloyds stamp at the bottom was just a stamp with a signature in it there was no date of when it was stamped no printed name of the lloyds surveyor nor was his ID number anywhere on the certificate
when i questioned the company about the cert and asked what the name of the surveyor was the name they had told me and the signature where two completely different names
just wondering if any of you on here have ever come across or heard of any one with this dilemma before

| hi iv just signed up to do a 15 week mig welding course to get me bs certificates but everyone i talk to says i should have just got copies of certificates done does anyone think this is wise or done it an if so where did they get it done? |

| If you want to live your life as a phoney welder thats up to you, but most phoneys get found out fairly quickley when they start working along side good tradesmen, so do the course and get your certs the honest way. |

| Any decent company would blow you out of the water, and the HSE would have a field day with you if the job went wrong and killed someone... up to you if you want a nice new 'friend' to look after you in the showers.

A fake certificate may get you an interview when you apply for a job, but how do you plan to bluff your way through the inevitable trade-test at the interview if you haven't done the course?
Forget about fake certificates. If you're serious about getting qualified and experienced in the welding trade then invest in some professional training or find a company that is prepared to train you.

try tescos ....head ul not have to fake it there imagine comming on a welding site and asking that question a 15 week mig course wont make u a welder and ul get found out on every job
