Bradley University Nurse Anesthesia Program Program Highlights The School of Nursing now offers the opportunity for the Professional Registered Nurse who holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or is prepared at Master of Science in Nursing level as an Advanced Practice Nurse to complete the Doctor of Nursing Practice. The 15-month program (May to August of the following year) is taught by dedicated full-time nursing faculty. Preparing You for Success Because nurses play critical roles in health care, your classes and clinical hours expose you to community health, critical care (ICU), mental health skilled care, surgeries, pediatrics and other settings.

1. The Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) requires that all students matriculating into a nurse anesthesia educational program on January 1, 2022 or thereafter be enrolled in a program approved by the COA to award a practice doctoral degree.

The Nurse Anesthesia Specialization of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Murray State University educates baccalaureate prepared Registered Nurses for a career as a Nurse Anesthetist.If you’re a Registered Nurse (RN) looking for more autonomy working with patients in an operating room, intensive care unit, or surgical facility, then becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) might be the perfect job for you.

The blended distance learning format shortens your time on campus. The combination curriculum of online and distance study so you can learn from where you live and work.The first two semesters (Fall and Spring) of the program is 100% online.The remainder of study is taught in a hybrid format with core courses taught online with specialty courses delivered in a traditional face-to-face format at Baptist Health Madisonville, Madisonville, Kentucky or UK Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington, Kentucky.

The Nurse Anesthesia faculty are up-to-date in current practice and have many years of experience as Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs). Our graduates are successful.

Diverse clinical experiences.

The clinical experiences offered by Baptist Health/Murray State University’s Nurse Anesthesia Program prepares graduates to practice as independent CRNAs. Students are provided with opportunities to complete clinical experiences in diverse settings with a specialized focus on rural settings.

The average number of cases for Class of 2018 was 1,120 which is above the required amount. Students feel that the clinical experiences are diverse and that they are well prepared for practice as a CRNA.

NBCRNA Certification Pass Rates

There were 19 graduates of the 2019 DNP cohort. Murray State University NBCRNA certification pass rates for first-time test takers are as follows:

• 2019: (first attempt): 94%
• 2019 (second attempt): 100%
  All students in the 2019 Cohort were successful on the first or second attempt.

  100% of 2020 graduates successfully completed the NCE within 60 days of program completion.

This program was created for current Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) who wish to earn a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. This program, which builds on the competencies and achievements of your master's degree education as a nurse anesthetist, is completed online, making it convenient from any location and for any schedule. It is ideal for the working CRNA, and has been designed as a part-time program of study that can be completed in 24 months.
